Most of the programs and services offered by OCPC are free to low income Onslow County families as well as military dependent families stationed at Camp Lejeune Marine Base, New River Air Station and the Naval Hospital at Camp LeJeune.

The Kingsbridge on Queens Creek HOA held its second annual Block Party on Saturday.  I don't live in this Hubert NC subdivision but I had the privilege of selling homes to some of the families and they invited me to their party.  

Good food, fellowship with neighbors and entertainment for the kids! 

If you are relocating to Camp LeJeune, New River Air Station or the Naval Hospital at Camp LeJeune, you will want to take a look at this community of friendly and caring people. It's a wonderful place to live and raise a family and it is a very short drive (about 12 minutes) to the back gate of Camp LeJeune Marine Base.  In addition the schools, shopping and restaurants are only about 10 minutes from the neighborhood.

The single family housing market in the Hubert/Swansboro, North Carolina area is still struggling but we are seeing signficant improvment in so areas.   As you can see from the chart below the number of days on the market decreased by almost 50% in Jan., Feb., and March 2009 when compared to Oct., Nov., and Dec. of 2008. 

There was a slight increase in the list price to sales price ratio but the average sales price decreased as did the number of units sold during the first quarter.

What does all this mean to you who is looking to buy a home in the Hubert, Swansboro NC area?  It means there is a good supply (inventory) of homes available in a wide variety of prices and locations.  Sellers may be more motivated to sell and willing to negiotiate more than in the past allowing you to buy more house/location with less money.

Have you just relocated to Camp LeJeune Marine Base, New River Air Station or the Naval Hospital at Camp LeJeune?  Or did your job bring you to Jacksonville, Swansboro, Hubert, Richlands or Maysville NC?  If the answer is "Yes", you may have questions concering getting your child (ren) enrolled in school.

1.  A parent or legal guardian (appointed by court) is the only person who can enroll a student.

2.  Documentation required at time of enrollment

• Certified Birth Certificate
• Immunization Record
• Social Security Card (if available)
• Proof of Residence
  • Current water, gas or electric bill
  • Notorized statement signed by person with whom you and your child are living - address must be included
• Photo Identification of Parent or Guardian
• School Withdrawal/Transfer Sheet (for In-County transfers)
• Custody Papers (if applicable)
